CI & BATXILLERAT- GIVE YOUR OPINION.

It is said that life is a matter of goals achievements. Some of them are pretty easy but others require a bit of effort.

  • Read about Roger's aim to run a Marathon.
  • Watch his home video
  • Write your opinion regarding to LIFE GOALS.

The NY Road Runners, the founders of the NYC Marathon, sent an email out to the runners of the 2011 NYC Marathon asking a simple question: What motivates you to run? I initially replied in an email but then decided that it might make more sense in my case, to respond with a video as well. This is my response.

I will apologize in advance for the beginning video footage of me but I can now post it as it is now in my past. It is my sincere hope that others may see the condition that I was in and be inspired to change their own life. Even if you are not overweight, it is important that you always have goals in front of you and strive to make the world a better place for you and everyone else on this planet. :)

Thank you and for more information go to RFME.org.

The Triangles APPLEJACK

The Triangles are a five piece band from Melbourne Australia, who began playing together in 2003. Their sound is a mix of psych-pop, indie-folk, and rock.

In May 2010 the Triangles travelled to the Spanish island of Menorca to appear in the new summer commercial for Estrella Damm. Their song Applejack was featured in the advertising campaign, which will be appearing across all media in Spain from June 1.

Watch the video and enjoy it.

Lyrics The Triangles - Applejack

Raise your hands and sing it with me
Sometimes the strongest and most wonderful things are those we cannot see
Sing a song, sing a song
About how things seem more important at night (x2)

Raise your hands and sing it with me
Sometimes the strongest and most wonderful things are those we cannot see
Sing a song, sing a song
About how things seem more important at night (x2)

So sing apples, sing drumkits
Sing moonlight, sing lungfish
And sing a song mitochondria
Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa

Raise your hands and sing it with me oh,
Sometimes the strongest and most wonderful things are those we cannot see
Sing apples, sing drumkits
Sing moonlight, sing lungfish

A name poem for ST Jordi.

We’ve started this 3rd term dealing with adjectives to describe feelings with our students from 2nd ESO.

I was thinking about doing something different and meaningful to them when I came up with the idea to tell 2S3 students how wonderful they are. Eventually, the idea became much more interesting as long they could tell each other how great they were so as to create a good class atmosphere.

I took their photographs from our website, put them in bag, shuffle them and asked the students to pick up a picture. As soon as they got their partner’s name, they looked up for suitable adjectives to describe them in order to make a visual poem with their names. They were expected to use colours, printed letters, pictures…… they had to be ORIGINAL!

We hanged the poem in their classroom for a week and afterwards they kept the ones with their own names.

Here you have an album to look at. Enjoy it!

2n BAT: Night life in NY

Here you have a link to a video about New York night life I've found out in an interesting video website.
Listen to the interview and do the suggested activities.

http://www.videojug.com/interview/new-york-city-nightlife-2

New York City Nightlife

1) Choose the best option

What is special about going out in New York?
New York has so much (1) history / story, class and panache behind the (2) hole /whole city. I mean, if you just look at "Sex in the City," you can see how (3) funny / fun it is to go out because you have people from all over the city, from artists and writers, and in a Mecca of entertainment, you never know who you're going to (4)bump /run into or meet. New York is just very fast-paced and very (5) chic / cheek . So it's fun to go out in New York.

2) Cross out the extra added word.

What are the coolest nightspots in New York?
Nightspots in New York also change extremely fast. If you have thought L.A. changed fast, New York nightlife also changes very fast too. Hotspots have included "Bungalow 8", "Pink Elephant", "Stereo", “Bread” "Butter"; the list goes on and on so on.

3) Order the sentences
What's the best way to get into a New York hot spot?
It works similarly to LA in that they want to keep the people outside so that it seems like it's really exclusive.

The best way to get into a New York hot spot is to know someone.

If you are an attractive girl and you go up to the front of the line, your chances of getting in are high

It probably is, and it's very good to know the door people and to know the venue owner or promoter.

.If you are a guy, take out your wallet because you're probably going to be using it to get in.

4) Fill in the gaps with the correct word

Can I get into New York hot spot by paying off the doorman?
A lot of times if you …………………….(1)l out money and try to grease the doormen, they don't care who you know sometimes, they don't care about anything. They will only ……………………….(2) their people in, especially if the capacity of the …………………………(3). is really low. Then they know they can only let in 'x' ……………………(4).of people. They don't care. They're not going to let you in. Your best ………………………….(5) is just to go home.
